Correspondence #8: Don Michael Sampson
A warm communication from the dusty heat of the Southwest USA, as a singer-songwriter with continuing Beat affiliations gives us a thumbs-up and shares a song about Ginsberg

Dear Simon,
Thanks for including ‘Come On Jack’ from my album Black Flower in your
recent book Kerouac On Record: A Literary Soundtrack.
That album also has a song for Allen Ginsberg as well (inspired after a
particularly poignant meeting in a small town in Tennessee).
I have attached a MP3 of it here for you.
The whole record spoke to the wild spirit and includes other songs for
Van Gogh, Gaugin, Dylan and outsider artist Bill Traylor.
Been making albums for a long time now. A new record just out in Europe
The Fall Of The Western Sun from a label in Italy. I have always been well-received there. They translated the lyrics into Italian as they appreciate the writing.
I am impressed with your history and how you encompass the things we
mutually enjoy.
Running on spirits of Blake, Rimbaud, Baudelaire, Whitman and Bob...
Good wishes to you from out here in New Mexico...
Onward Mi Amigo!
